Based out of Steamboat Springs, Yampa Valley Sustainability Council is proud to be a partner with Energy Smart Colorado to offer residential energy efficiency programs and home energy upgrades to Yampa Valley Electric Association customers.
Energy efficiency rebates are available through the Cen$ible Energy program. Rebates are available to all residential and business customers in the Yampa Valley Electric Association service territory.
The mission of the nonprofit Yampa Valley Sustainability Council (YVSC) is to be a resource and catalyst for building a sustainable community through education and programs and by building collaboration among individuals, organizations, businesses and government. The central challenge at YVSC is to build and expand capacity to lead the Yampa Valley in sustainability efforts. In addition to energy education, programs at YVSC include Talking Green, Zero Waste, Yampa Valley Recycles, Green Building, ReTree Steamboat and Sustainable Schools.

Sarah Jones, Executive DirectorSarah Jones has served as the executive director for the nonprofit Yampa Valley Sustainability Council since 2011 after she and her family moved to Steamboat Springs. Sarah earned her BA in biology and environmental studies from Colby College in Maine and her MS in geology and environmental geochemistry from CU-Boulder. She went on to work in environmental consulting for more 15 years and spent 10 years working with schools to develop their sustainable practices. Sarah believes that educating people, especially children, about sustainability is the most important job she can have to help ensure a healthy environment in the future.
Suzie Romig, Energy Outreach CoordinatorSuzie Romig works as the part-time Energy Outreach Coordinator for YVSC and has worked or volunteered with a wide variety of educational, nonprofit and environmental organizations and green teams across Colorado. She has assisted at energy efficiency organizations ranging from Clean Energy Economy for the Region (CLEER) to Northern Colorado Clean Cities. With a journalism background and years of public information experience, she strives to combine communications knowledge with environmental passion to help other people learn more too.
