Kasey Provorse, Executive Director

Kasey joined Energy Smart Colorado in May 2018. Kasey brings 25 years of nonprofit leadership, fund-raising, and community relations expertise to her position as Executive Director. In her role with Energy Smart Colorado (ESC), Kasey is focused on developing new partnerships, revenue growth, and member support services.

Prior to joining ESC, Kasey served as the Director of Development for The Summit Foundation, a community foundation based in Summit County, Colorado for 11 years. Through employee giving programs, a patron pass program partnership with local ski areas and several annual giving and endowment fund campaigns as well as donor advised and scholarship funds, Kasey cultivated more than $3 million in fund-raised revenue annually.

A Summit County resident since 1992, Kasey’s previous positions included fund-raising for The Keystone Center and its program division Keystone Science School and as Executive Director of Summit Recycling Project (now High Country Conservation Center). Kasey received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication with Honors from the University of Denver and, through a fellowship provided by The Colorado Trust, she obtained her Masters of Nonprofit Management from Regis University.

Kasey is an avid mountain biker and tele skier and enjoys these sports and traveling with her husband Bradd as often as time allows.

Emily Birk, Program Manager

Emily supports Energy Smart Colorado part-time as Program Manager. Emily also works part-time for 4CORE where she has brought a breadth of experience in solar installations for low-income residents that included four years with the Denver-based organization GRID Alternatives as their Outreach Manager.

Energy Smart Colorado and 4CORE benefit from Emily’s skilled project management, her training with Solar Energy International (SEI) and her experience developing and engaging volunteers for community solar gardens.

A Colorado native, Emily has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She studied abroad in Seville, Spain learning Spanish and international business for two semesters.

In her spare time, Emily enjoys skiing, snowboarding, hiking and cheering on the Denver Broncos.
