Energy Smart Colorado Board of Trustees
Dave Hatchimonji, Residential Energy Efficiency Program Manager, Boulder County
Dave manages Boulder County’s residential EnergySmart service, which helps to make energy efficiency upgrades easier and more affordable for county residents, including designing and monitoring incentives and new financing products. Dave also serves as liaison to Xcel Energy and the Public Utilities Commission on energy efficiency issues and assists in the administration of the energy loan product. He began his tenure with Boulder County at Longs Peak Energy Conservation prior to coming to the Sustainability Office.
Mona Newton, Executive Director, Community Office for Resource Efficiency
Prior to joining CORE in 2012, Mona worked at the Governor’s Energy Office in Denver, CO under Governors Ritter and Hickenlooper. She has worked in the energy efficiency and renewable energy field for more than two decades, all in Colorado, in the non-profit and for profit sectors. She received her M.A. from the University of Denver Korbel School of International Studies and her B.A. from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She currently resides in Aspen taking advantage of the mountains and culture whenever possible.
Jen Schenk, High Country Conservation Center, Executive Director
Prior to joining HC3, Jen Schenk was the executive director at the Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability in Eagle County. She also worked in the hospitality industry at Copper Mountain for almost 15 years, gaining experience as an environmental manager and in marketing. Jen has been actively involved in strategic waste reduction within the community for the past 15 years. Jen also serves on the Colorado Association for Recycling’s Board of Directors. Jen graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Biology and earned a M.A.S. in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver. In her free time, she loves mountain biking, telemark skiing and spending time with her family.
