Home Assessment Findings: The vented and under-insulated crawlspace was identified as one of the main culprits of energy loss in the home.
Energy Efficiency Project: After working with one of the Energy Smart contractors, Richard Backe/EES, The Adams family were able to add R-20 insulation to their crawl space. There was extensive spray foam applied to the rim joist as well as other penetrations in the home.
Resource Savings: Decreased the air leakage in the home by 20%.
Benefit: Within one hour of the completion of this project the Adams family was forced to turn down their thermostat due to the decreased heat loss and more efficienct use of thier heating system.
