History of Energy Smart Colorado
Energy Smart Colorado is the first rural multi-jurisdictional consortium in the U.S. to implement a comprehensive residential energy efficiency program.
With $4.9 million in seed funding from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant through the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Neighborhood Program, Energy Smart Colorado has developed a comprehensive residential and commercial energy program.
In 2010, the Better Buildings grant was awarded to Gunnison, Pitkin and Eagle counties and their non-profit partners the Office for Resource Efficiency, the Community Office for Resource Efficiency and the Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability.
When the grant came to an end in 2013, Energy Smart Colorado expanded to collaborate and partner with non-profits, utilities and municipalities around the State. Click below for 2011-2013 Reports.
